WHEELCHAIR-RECLINER & TILT IN SPACE

From NeuroRehab.wiki

SUMMARY

1. To redistribute weight & prevent pressure injuries. Also for poor sitting balance, poor endurance, orthostatic hypotension, fluctuating respiratory needs.

2. Tilt-in-space: the angle between the seat and back does not change but the patient's orientation in space changes.

3. This allows pressure to be redistributed from the seating surface to the back support. Since there is no movement of the back, shear forces are minimized.
