WHEELCHAIR-ANTI TIPPERS

SUMMARY

1. Anti-tippers can be fixed or removable and are extensions placed on the lower and posterior rail of the WC to minimize the risk of falling backward. They are also available for attachment to the front-rigging to avoid forward tipping.

2. Used on recliner WC or for patients who have poor control with stand-to-sit transfers, AKA, ataxia, and SCI patients.

3. Anti-tipping devices may interfere with curb and step negotiation.

4. They are designed so that they can be rotated upward for clearance to allow for safe negotiation of steps and curbs for functional WC mobility.
