SUMMARY

1. A wrist disarticulation spares the distal radial ulnar articulation and thus preserves full forearm supination and pronation.

2. Socket designs for this level are tapered and flattened distally to form an oval that allows the amputee full active supination and pronation, thus avoiding having to preposition the terminal device (TD) for functional activities.

3. A special thin wrist unit is used to minimize the overall length of the prosthesis because of the extremely long residual limb.
