SUMMARY

1. Skin changes follow a progression of mucinous edema, then induration, and finally fibrosis and atrophy. Limited vs diffuse SSC.

ALL SSC TYPES
2. Raynaud's eventually occurs & severe vasoconstriction can be associated with digital tip ulcerations.

3. Sclerodactyly is the term used to describe localized scleroderma of the fingers or toes.

4. Abnormal nail-fold capillary loops identified on nail-fold capillaroscopy.

LIMITED SSC TYPE
5. Telangiectasias.

CREST SYNDROME
6. Tightening of the skin over the anterior chest.
