SUBMANDIBULAR GANGLION-SITE

SUMMARY
1. The submandibular ganglion hangs suspended from the lingual nerve atop the hyoglossus.
2. It is a relay station between the chorda tympani and submandibular/sublingual glands.
3. The lingual nerve is a branch of the mandibular division of the trigeminal and carries taste & general sensation from the anterior 2/3 of the tongue.
