SPINE-VERTEBRAL CANAL

SUMMARY

1. The vertebral canal is a tubular space formed by a whole series of vertebral foramina one on top of the other

2. Anterior boundary: PLL, disc, vertebral body

3. Posterior boundary: lamina, ligamentum flavum

4. Lateral boundary: pedicles, intervertebral foramina

5. The bony wall is separated from the meninges by the epidural space, which contains fat and veins (internal vertebral venous plexus)
