SUMMARY
1. Areas of fibrinoid necrosis with a characteristic histologic appearance.
2. Initiated by small-vessel vasculitis.
3. Common sites: proximal ulna, olecranon bursa, tendons, pressure areas of hands and feet, lungs, pleura, pericardium, myocardium, vocal cord.
