SUMMARY

1. More common in men & tend to rupture rather than dissect.

MANAGEMENT
2. Treat BP and lipids & advise to stop smoking.

3. If asymptomatic, aneurysms 4-5.4 cm should be monitored with US or CT every 6-12 months.
4. Surgery: > 5.5 cm, symptomatic (abdominal/back pain, pulsatile mass, hypotension) or expand > 0.5 cm in 6 months.

5. ACS is the cause of 70% of peri-operative mortality, so screen with nuclear stress-test.
