SUMMARY
1. Eschar: this is tough leathery matter covering the wound composed of necrotic skin and subcutaneous tissue.
2. Removal of eschar and restaging the ulcer: should be removed as it prevents adequate wound staging.
3. Debridement: surgical vs. autolytic.
