SUMMARY

1. Muscular branches - to all muscles in the fossa.
2. Branches to the head of the gastrocs (sural arteries) - end arteries.
3. Medial & lateral superior genicular arteries - encircle the femur. Chief contributors to the knee.
4. Medial & lateral inferior genicular arteries - encircle the tibia. Chief contributors to the knee.
5. Middle genicular artery - enters the knee joint to supply the cruciate ligaments.
