NCS-ENTRAPMENT NEUROPATHIES

From NeuroRehab.wiki

SUMMARY

1. Entrapment produces demyelination and consequent conduction slowing. This progresses to axon loss in severe cases.

2. The largest-diameter sensory fibers are the first to be affected.

3. Not all nerves fascicles are affected equally. For example, ulnar neuropathy at the elbow spares fascicles supplying FCU & FDP.
