NCS-CIP & CIM CLINICAL FINDINGS

SUMMARY

1. Both include symmetric, flaccid limb weakness and ventilatory muscle weakness.

2. Extraocular and facial muscles are relatively spared.

CIP
3. 1-2 weeks ICU stay.
4. Patients exhibit distal sensory loss.
5. Reduced or absent deep tendon reflexes.

CIM
6. Several days in ICU.
7. Sensation normal.
8. Tendon reflexes spared.
