MUSCULOCUTANEOUS NERVE

SUMMARY

ORIGIN
1. Origin: from the lateral cord of the brachial plexus, C5, 6, 7
2. Lies lateral to the axillary a.
3. Descends past lateral border of pactoralis minor

COURSE & SUPPLY
4. Supplies the shoulder joint
5. Pierces through the coracobrachialis, supplying this muscle
6. It then passes between the biceps & brachialis (supplying both muscles), accompanied by branches/tributaries of the brachial artery & vein

7. Its remaining fibers, purely cutaneous now, appears at the lateral margin of the biceps tendon as the lateral cutaneous nerve of the forearm
