MUSCLES-SUPERFICIAL ADDUCTORS OF MEDIAL THIGH
SUMMARY
1. PECTINEUS - O: quadrilateral muscle, arises from the pectineal line from the pubis. I: pectineal line of proximal femoral shaft & linea aspera. NS: anterior divisions of the femoral + obturator n. Adducts + medially rotates the femur.
2. GRACILIS - O: inferior pubic ramus. I: together with the tendons of the SARTORIUS (in front) + SEMITENDINOSUS (behind) forms a conjoint tendon (Pes Anserinus) to be inserted into the anteromedial subcutaneous surface of the proximal tibia.
3. ADDUCTOR BREVIS - O: body & inferior pubic ramus. I: upper part of linea aspera above adductor longus insertion. The obturator nerve divides into its anterior and posterior divisions in front and behind it.
4. ADDUCTOR LONGUS - O: body of pubis (angle between pubic crest + symphysis); I: lower 2/3 of linea aspera of femur. Lies b/w femoral + profunda femoris vessels.
5. All are supplied by the anterior division of the Obturator nerve.
