SUMMARY

1. Characterized by sudden, jerky, irregular, or periodic involuntary contractions of muscles.

2. Types: reflex myoclonus (assoc. with muscle stretch), non-spontaneous myoclonus (occurs at rest), positive myoclonus (referring to involuntary muscle movement), negative myoclonus (referring to involuntary muscle relaxation).

3. Treatment: anti-epileptics (levetiracetam, clonazepam, valproate).
