MND-PHYSICAL FUNCTION
SUMMARY
Aim to maintain the following (as opposed to improving):
1. Mobility
2. Self-care
3. Home environment: modifications, ADL assistance, walking aid then W/C, transfers, equipment (commode, hospital bed, hoist)
4. Community access
5. Upper limb function
6. Head support: worse at later stages
7. Falls prevention
8. Orthoses (usually off-the-shelf as there is little time): upper limb orthoses tend to be supportive (slings), head support
9. Exercise: CVS benefit, but not limb weakness, education to avoid injury and avoid fatigue
