DRIVING-POST STROKE CONSIDERATIONS

SUMMARY

1. Patient should not drive for 4 weeks post-stroke (private license).

2. If patient develops significant hemiparesis/hemiplegia, consider car modifications depending on the side and severity of deficits.

3. Consider changing to automatic car.
4. May not be able to drive in cases of significant neglect and visual field defect.
