CORD SYNDROME-CONUS MEDULLARIS SYNDROME

SUMMARY

1. The conus lies at L1-L2.

2. Injury to the conus results in atonic bowel & bladder, sexual dysfunction.

3. Normal motor function unless S1-S2 are involved, symmetric abnormalities.

4. In high conus lesions, the bulbocavernosus & micturition reflexes are intact.
