COPD-MANAGEMENT (INFECTION)

SUMMARY

1. Suspect infection if worsening dyspnoea, sputum volume & purulence. Watch for rising inflammatory markers.

2. Therapeutic guidelines recommends oral amoxicillin 500 mg 8 hourly for 5 day OR doxycycline 200 mg for first dose, then 100 mg for 5 days.
