CERVICAL SPINE-SURFACE MARKINGS

SUMMARY

Surface markings of cervical levels are useful for estimating cervical levels for anterior spine surgery:
1. C1/2: angle of the mandible
2. C3/4: 1cm above the thyroid cartilage (at the level of the hyoid bone)
3. C4/5: thyroid cartilage
4. C5/6: cricothyroid membrane
5. C6: carotid tubercle
6. C6/7: cricoid cartilage
