ANGINA-ANTICOAGULATION
SUMMARY
1. There is a high probability of coronary thrombus formation with unstable angina, so always use either IV heparin or subcutaneous low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) if there are no contraindications.
2. Concomittant therapy - Aspirin daily for life, Clopidogrel x 1 month and ideally up to a year (particularly if a stent is placed).
