SUMMARY

1. Class I includes the HLA-A, HLA-8, and HLA-C antigens, which interact with CD8 or T suppressor cells.

2. Class II includes the HLA-D antigens; e.g. DR2, DR3, and DR4, which interact with CD4 or T helper cells.

3. Note: An easy way to remember this relationship is that both form a product of 8. MHC-1 * CD8 = 8, while MHC-2 * CD4= 8.
