DORSAL SCAPULAR NERVE

SUMMARY


1. Arises from the C5 root of the brachial plexus.
 2. Pierces the SCALENUS MEDIUS and continues deep to the LEVATOR SCAPULAE & RHOMBOIDS.
3. Supplies the LEVATOR SCAPULAE (elevates the scapula) & RHOMBOIDS (pull the scapula towards the spine).
4. Accompanied by the dorsal scapular artery.
5. Injury (rare) causes deviation of scapula from the midline and inability to elevate the scapula.
