SUMMARY
1. Many different Ca-binding proteins: troponin, calmodulin, calbindin.
2. Troponin is involved in skeletal muscle contraction.
3. When calmodulin binds Ca it can activate 5 different kinases.
CALMODULIN KINASES
4. Myosin light-chain kinase: smooth muscle contraction
5. CaMKI and CaMKII: synaptic function
6. CaMKIII: protein synthesis
7. Calcuneurin: phosphatase that inactivetes Ca channels, for T-cell activation
