Presents as detrusor <i>areflexia &amp; atonia</i> of the pelvic floor muscles; causing non-contractile bladder with leakage from overflow. Lesion involving the sacral micturition center (S2-S4) or peripheral innervation of the bladder.
<br/>
<br/><i>CAUSES</i>
<br/>1. Spinal shock: reflex arc not functioning due to initial trauma.
<br/>2. Conus medullaris syndrome &amp; cauda equina syndrome due to<i> tumor, infection, trauma, stroke.</i>
<br/>3. Syringomyelia.
<br/>4. Tethered cord syndrome.
