SUMMARY

1. Patient & partner education and counselling.

2. Advanced planning & strategies to manage accidents.

3. Adhere to bowel program, empty bladder & bowel prior to sexual activity.

4. For people with indwelling urethral catheters, these may be able to be removed before, and reinserted after, sexual activity. Or men may be able to fold & tape the catheter to the penis.

5. Females should be educated about their body anatomy, where the catheter is inserted and that vaginal penetration is still possible.
