SUMMARY

1. Fixed axle: appropriate for thosewho do not use the WC as primary means of mobility.

2. Adjustable axle: the more posterior the rear wheels the greater the rolling resistance, greater stability, greater turning radius, more energy required for propulsion, the more extension needed at the glenohumeral joint, which can increase stress/injuries at the shoulder.

3. Adjustable axle: the more anterior the rear wheels the less the rolling resistance, less stability/more maneuverable, less turning radius, less energy required for propulsion, the more extension needed at the glenohumeral joint, may releive shoulder pain.
