SUMMARY

1. Virtual reality (VR) is a technology that allows individuals to experience and interact with virtual environments: immersive (i.e. 3D environment via head-mounted display) or non-immersive (i.e. 2D environment via conventional computer monitor).

2. Virtual reality training has been shown to improve gait and may improve motor function, ADLs, functional ambulation, balance and functional mobility.

3. Virtual reality with treadmill training has been shown to improve gait, balance and functional ambulation.
