SUMMARY

1. Advice to general population: 0.5mg of folate supplement in addition to diet high in folate during first month pre-conception and first trimester.

2. Folate rich foods: green leafy vegetables, cereals, fruits, grains, legumes, wholegrain breads.

3. Advice for high risk groups: 5mg folate supplementation.
