SUMMARY

1. Aperients, diet, fluid management.

2. Enemas with bowel routine.

3. Transanal irrigation: bowl washout (e.g Peristeen).

4. Antegrade continence enema: 85% success rate in achieving continence; typically second daily & can take 2 hours.

5. Colostomy.
