SUMMARY

1. Enthisitis (plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis) is common, the synovium is secondarily involved.

2. Monocytes/macrophages/dendritic cells release IL-12/23.

3. This then stimulates TH-17 cells, which eventually leads to release of TNF-alpha & leads to new bone formation.
