SUMMARY

1. Comprehensive assessment: thorough musculoskeletal evaluation, psychological assessment, and, in patients with work-related injuries, a vocational rehabilitation interview.

2. Multi-speciality physicians: rehabilitation specialists, pain specialists, anaesthetists, surgeons.

3. Psychologists: pain psychology assessment and therapeutic interventions focus on both cognitive and behavioral factors related to pain.

4. Allied health: physical, occupational, recreation therapists; nurses; biofeedback, relaxation specialists; movement-based therapy practitioners; vocational counselors; other specialists.

5. Multiple therapeutic modalities.

6. Research and educational activity.

7. Focus on comprehensive care of chronic and acute pain.
