GAIT-STANCE PHASE

SUMMARY
1. Hip remains extended throughout (angular displacement takes place at the hip & ankle).
2. Lateral horizontal shift of the pelvis by 2.5cm.
3. Flexion of the knee at heel strike, followed by extension, then flexion prior to toe off.
4. Dorsiflexion of the ankle until the end of stance phase, then plantarflexion.
