SUMMARY

1. Width of base of support: 5-10cm between heels.

2. Normal centre of gravity is approximatey 5cm anterior to S2 vertebra.

3. Normal gait follows a smooth sinusoidal curve, oscillating no more than 5cm in the vertical axis.

4. Vertical displacement is minimized by plantarflexion & dorsiflexion of the foot during gait.
