SUMMARY

ABNORMALITIES
1. Wide base of support.
2. Waddling gait.

CAUSES
1. Foot too laterally outset, heel centers too far apart. Too much adduction may have been built into prosthesis.
2. Medial brim of the socket too high, impinging on the ischial tuberosity.
3. Prosthesis may be too long.
4. Ipsilateral weak hip adductors, hip abduction contracture.
5. Pain at the stump.
6. Defect may be due to habit pattern.
