SUMMARY

1. Purée each food separately and provide a contrast of colours.

2. Easier to eat from a shallow spoon.

3. Small amounts per swallow, eat slowly.

4. Eat in private.

5. Tastier foods can stimulate swallow reflex.

6. Sit upright with head upright.

7. Supported cups or syringes.

8. Treat thick secretions.
