SUMMARY

Consider the following in returning to work:
1. Patient factors: cognition, capacity, vision, neglect, hemi-sensory deficits, hand dexterity
2. Nature of the work: sedentary vs. physically demanding work, risk of injury to the patient and public
3. Working environment: safety, ergonomics, access (lifts, ramps, stairs, rails, disability parking, WC-access), toilets
4. Gradual return to work: time-off immediately post-injury, gradual planned return to work, supervision
5. Assessment: by OT, INVOC, employer
