COVID-POST COVID CONDITION
SUMMARY
1. Post-COVID conditions are a wide range of new, returning, or ongoing symptoms patients can experience ≥ 4 weeks after first being infected with COVID-19. AKA long COVID, long-haul COVID, post-acute COVID-19, long-term effects of COVID, or chronic COVID.
2. Wide time variability of symptoms with some symptoms resolving quicker than others. Fatigue, dyspnoea, chest tightness, cognitive & psychological effects may last months.
SYMPTOMS
3. Common symptoms: fatigue (13-87%), dyspnoea (10-71%), chest pain (12-44%), cough (17-34%).
4. Psychological symptoms: depression, anxiety, PTSD.
5. Cognitive symptoms: poor memory, attention.
6. Uncommon: anosmia, arthralgia, myalgia, headache, rhinitis, poor appetite, dizziness, insomnia, alopecia, sweating, diarrhoea.
