SUMMARY

1. Mode: rhythmic, isotonic, aerobic (walking, swimming, biking); mnemonic: RITA.

2. Intensity: 11-13 repeats, aim for 30 bpm above resting HR.

3. Duration: 15-60 minutes.

4. Frequency: 3-5x/week at minimum.

5. Progression: gradual increase in HR, change mode, gradually increase duration & endurance.

6. Warm-up & cool-down: 5-10 minutes prior and cool-down 5 minutes after exercise.

7. Monitor intensity: using the Borg Rating of Perceived Exertion scale, HR, saturation, BP monitoring.
