CARDIAC REHABILITATION-PHASE 2 (3-6 MTHS)

SUMMARY

1. Convalescent phase: following discharge from acute hospital to admission to a rehab program (lasts 3-6 months).

2. No increase in intensity but increase in duration.

3. This is to encourage scar formation in the area of myocardial damage.

4. Length determined partly by risk stratification & monitoring need. Patient is closely monitored.

5. Intense risk factor modification.
