SUMMARY

1. Commences when the patient is transferred out of CCU.

2. Activities or exercises of intensity (3 to 4 METs)

3. Energy cost: 1 mph (slow stroll) = 1.5 to 2 METs; 2 mph (regular slow walk) = 2 to 3 METs; propelling wheelchair = 2 to 3 METs.

4. Bypass surgery rehabilitation regimen is differentiated into aggressive versus slow to recover.
