SUMMARY

1. Ensure good wound healing.

2. Reduce oedema.

3. Shape the residuum: preferably triangular in shape; the prosthetic will move inevitably due to pelvic rotation during gait.

4. Pain management: stump pain, phantom limb sensation, phantom limb pain.

5. Prevent contractures.

6. Prepare for prosthetic management & ambulation.
