SUMMARY

1. Medical issues: increased energy cost of ambulation, worse pain, phantom limb syndrome, difficult wound management, increased risk of falls, contractures, impaired heat loss.

2. PT issues: more reliant on WC mobilization, increased stress/strain on upper limbs and shoulders.

3. OT issues: more assistance with ADLs, wheelchair access now more important, home & vehicle modifications.

4. Psychological issues: more prone to depression.
