SUMMARY

1. Ankle disarticulation: 15%

2. Traumatic TTA: 25%

3. Vascular TTA: 40%

4. Traumatic TFA: 68%

5. Vascular TFA: 100%

6. Huang et al.: a bilateral TFA expends 300% the energy cost of ambulation of a normal person.

NB: Important in vasculopaths as their cardiovascular reserve is limited.
