SUMMARY

1. Superiorly the laminae are grooved along the posterior border


2. Inferiorly the laminae are grooved along the anterior border

3. Thus the alternate laminae and ligamenta flava are imbricated, with the ligamenta attaching from the front of the laminae below and behind the lamina above
