SUMMARY

6 branches which contain all 3 root components:
1. Nasopalatine nerve: passes through the sphenopalatine foramen, crosses the roof of the nose and supplies the nasal septum & incisive gum of hard palate
2. Lateral posterior-superior nasal nerve: passes through the sphenopalatine foramen and supplies the posterior-superior quadrant of the wall of the nose
3. Lateral posterior-inferior nasal nerve
4. Greater palatine nerve: passes through the greater palatine foramen to supply the mucus membrane of the hard palate
5. Lesser palatine nerve: passes through the lesser palatine foramen to supply the mucus membrane of the soft palate & palatine tonsil
6. Pharyngeal nerve: passes through the palato-vaginal canal to supply the upper nasopharynx
