SUMMARY

1. 12 short ciliary nerves.

2. Each possess all 3 root components.

3. They pierce the sclera around the optic nerve and run in the suprachoroidal space.

4. Both long & short ciliary nerves carry sensory fibres.

5. Short ciliary nerves carry parasympathetic fibres to the constrictor pupilae.

6. Long ciliary berves carry sympathetic fibres to the dilator pupilae.
