THYROID NODULE-NON TOXIC GOITER
SUMMARY
These patients have a palpable thyroid + normal thyroid function.
1. Simple non-toxic goiter: due to iodine deficiency, goitrogen (brussle sprouts, cassava, cabbage, cauliflower). Tx: iodine supplementation, remove goitrogen.
2. Non-toxic MNG: US to target suspicious, dominant nodules. Surgery for compression/cosmetic symptoms, RAi otherwise.
