PITUITARY-ACROMEGALY
SUMMARY
1. Acromegaly: excess GH in adulthood.
2. Gigantism: excess GH in childhood when growth plates of long bones are open.
3. Excess soft tissue growth receeds following Tx, however, long-bone changes do not.
4. >99% are due to well-defined, benign pituitary adenoma.
