SUMMARY

1. Stage 0: No signs of disease

2. Stage 1: Mild, unilateral involvement

3. Stage 2: Bilateral involvement; balance unimpaired

4. Stage 3: Mild to moderate bilateral disease; falls; physically independent; independent with ADL’s

5. Stage 4: Severe disability; still able to walk (+/- aid) or stand unassisted; assisted with ADL’s

6. Stage 5: Wheelchair bound or bedridden unless aided; high falls risk; 24 hour care
